Patrick the hero

THE HOT MARBLE opens with 11-year-old Patrick. He imagines himself a hero: "He imagined goblins swarming out of the grass to seize Gracie and him. Suddenly, he unveiled his true power: He grew tall and lean and hard, wearing a black cloak, holding a magic sword. With great swipes of its razor sharp blade, he defended little Gracie against the wicked hordes, chopping the slobbering and gibbering things into bloody pieces of green flesh . . ." (p. 7).


I want to stay like Patrick, no matter how old I get.

There are currently two books in this SOUL'S WARFARE series: THE HOT MARBLE and THE CAVE CHAMBER. These are now published by Winged Publications, and my self-published books are taken off Kindle and Amazon. The newly published books will very soon be available on Amazon and Kindle.

Protecting Your Family

In Chapter 3 of The Hot Marble, "The Attack," Lewis is ordered to work with the enemy or his family may be hurt. This is a powerful, but horrible motivator. In a more subtle way, the threat exists with a so-called "normal" situation. For instance, a child feels the tension or anxiety of her parents and adjusts her behaviors to "protect" them. She gets used to not expressing her negative emotions. She doesn't tell what scary things she's seen or experienced. The habit may last well into her future. It takes a while to unlearn that behavior. But it can be unlearned.
